Hunting Grounds
"The ocean is a world defined by movement and survival. In Hunting Grounds, a sailfish has entered the shallows in pursuit of opportunity, surrounded by the movement of the life it depends upon.
I wanted the light and beauty of the water to contrast with what may be actually taking place. To us, the scene may appear peaceful. Beneath the surface, it could tell another story. I leave that up to the viewer. Predator and prey are engaged in a relationship that has existed for millions of years as has the simple, yet significant beauty of the moment.
Hunting Grounds is about that constant balance—the beauty of the ocean and the instinct to survive within it."
