The Wise One

The Wise One

"There is something about a sea turtle that suggests it has seen more than we have.

This piece is about resilience and one of nature’s most extraordinary journeys. From the moment its life begins, the sea turtle faces an immense and often unforgiving ocean, yet somehow it can find its way back to the place where that life began.

I purposely made the wave above the turtle feel large and powerful. It represents the scale of the journey—the forces it must navigate and the uncertainty that lies ahead. How it finds its way home remains one of the mysteries that makes this ancient traveler so remarkable.

The Wise One is about perseverance, instinct and the extraordinary ability to find our way home."
